What is the AC2?
The AC2 utilizes dual balanced armature technology, with a new take on the Westone signature sound. The AC2 is a pair of clear custom fit all acrylic monitors, with a single sound bore and a different driver configuration than the ES2. The idea is to provide high quality sound at an affordable price, so the AC2 is only available in clear with a clear cable, with Westone laser engraved on the faceplate. The AC2 provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” clear replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The AC2 is also a great choice for use with any personal listening device.
The suggested retail price for the AC2 is $399.00.
The AC2 is custom made to fit a specific individual, so ear impressions are required. To place an order for a pair of AC2 monitors, please start by clicking on Find A Dealer on our website.

Describe the different custom fit monitors and their costs
ES5
Our latest offering in the custom-fit in-ear musicians’ monitor category, the ES5 contains five drivers with a passive three-way crossover. Utilizing a single low, two mids, and two high frequency speakers, the ES5 provides an extended frequency response very similar to many over the ear headphones. The ES5 is recommended for any musician, no matter what instrument they play. Compatible with any personal ear monitoring system on the market, the ES5 provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The ES5 is manufactured with a hard acrylic shell with a body heat activated canal portion that softens as it warms to body temperature.
The ES5 is also an excellent choice for the high end audiophile and personal listener, and will work with any personal listening device such as an iPod or MP3 player.
The suggested retail price for the ES5 is $950.00.
ES3X
The ES3X is a true three-way in-ear musicians’ monitor with a high, mid and low frequency speaker with a passive three-way cross over in each ear. Designed for musicians to use while performing live onstage, the ES3X is suitable for any musician, no matter what instrument they play. The ES3X provides a well balanced sound signature across the frequency response. Compatible with any personal ear monitoring system on the market, the ES3X provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The ES3X is manufactured with a hard acrylic shell with a body heat activated canal portion that softens as it warms to body temperature.
The ES3X also works well as a high end personal listening earphone, and can be used with any personal listening device such as an iPod, or MP3 player.
The suggested retail price for the ES3X is $850.00.
ES3
The world’s first true three-way custom fit in-ear musicians’ monitor. The ES3 contains a high, mid and low frequency speaker with a passive three-way crossover in each ear. The ES3 was designed specifically for guitar players and vocalists who are running a full band mix in their ears (not recommended for drummers or bassists). We placed a 2-3 decibel hump in the 3-5 kHz range to provide additional clarity in the mid range frequencies. While it does have excellent low end and clean highs, the low end response is not as strong as the ES3X or the ES2. . Compatible with any personal ear monitoring system on the market, the ES3 provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The ES3 is manufactured with a hard acrylic shell with a body heat activated canal portion that softens as it warms to body temperature.
The ES3 is not recommended for personal listening applications as the mid range hump will add too much mids to the sound when listening to prerecorded music.
The suggested retail price for the ES3 is $800.00.
ES2
Our dual driver in-ear musicians’ monitor contains a high and low frequency speaker with a passive crossover in each ear. The ES2 has been the industry standard for many years and is currently in use by some of the top performers in the business. The ES2 will work for any musician no matter what instrument they play, and bassists and drummers appreciate the low end response it provides while still maintaining exceptional mids and highs. Compatible with any personal ear monitoring system on the market, the ES2 provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The ES2 is manufactured with a hard acrylic shell with a body heat activated canal portion that softens as it warms to body temperature.
The ES2 is also popular for personal listening applications.
The suggested retail price for the ES2 is $650.00
ES1
A great entry level in-ear musicians’ monitor, the ES1 contains one full range speaker in each ear. The ES1 delivers incredible clarity and punch, and is recommended for solo vocalists who may be singing to backing tracks, or vocalist/acoustic guitar players. The ES1 is not recommended for drummers or bassists, as it not designed to handle the low end response that is necessary for those instruments. Compatible with any personal ear monitoring system on the market, the ES1 provides 20-25 dB of attenuation and comes with the standard 50” replaceable cable with a 3.5mm stereo jack. The ES1 is manufactured with a hard acrylic shell with a body heat activated canal portion that softens as it warms to body temperature.
The ES1 is also a great choice for use with any personal listening device.
The suggested retail price for the ES1 is $375.00.

What is the difference between the UM Series and the True-Fit Series line of products?
The True-Fit series of earphones - Westone 1, Westone 2, Westone 3 and Westone 4 - were specifically designed for personal listening applications, for use with devices such as an iPod or MP3 player. The sound signature is balanced without accentuating any particular frequency band – perfect for prerecorded music – and was crafted based on feedback from our customers and what they wanted in the perfect personal listening earphone. The Westone 1, Westone 2, Westone 3 and Westone 4 are a result of our dedication to providing professional level sound in a personal listening earphone.
The UM (Universal Monitor) series was designed for onstage use in live sound applications as in-ear musicians’ monitors. The UM1, UM2 and UM3X all feature a greater emphasis on low frequency information, while maintaining excellent mids and highs. Because live music is less refined than prerecorded mastered music, musicians need an in-ear musicians’ monitor that have the frequencies necessary to handle whatever equalization is required to replicate the natural sound of their instrument. More headroom in the low frequencies also allows drummers and bassists to “feel” the additional low end associated with their instrument.
What is the difference between the Westone 3 and the UM3X?

Although both models feature three drivers, the sound signatures are tuned for different applications. The UM3X was designed for musicians to use as an in-ear musicians’ monitor while performing live onstage. The Westone 3 was specifically designed for personal listening to prerecorded and processed music.
The UM3X’s three drivers provide detailed sound across all frequencies, but also feature increased low end response as compared to the Westone 3. The additional low end is necessary for musicians since live sound is not as refined as prerecorded and mastered music. Many times the musician needs to have more headroom in the low frequency to replicate their instrument accurately. This is particularly true for drummers and bassists. While the UM3X will also work well for personal listening applications, the potential purchaser should be aware that the sound signature does favor the performing musician.
The Westone 3 offers a sound signature that was designed for the high-end audiophile who is looking for a well balanced sound across the frequency response without accentuating any particular frequency band.
